A simple way to remove old rubber control arm bushings. It works fast and uses ordinary tools. I did not need to remove the outer metal sleeve since I was installing the polyurethane bushings.  I cleaned and then applied POR15 to the control arms for added rust protection.

Now the polyurethane bushings can be installed. How I removed the rubber bushing and sleeve from my '67 Lemans rear control arms.

I used a 1/4" drill bit and corded drill. My battery drill wasn't powerful. Sep 13, Put the control arm gently in a vise. Cut the bushing out by taking a hacksaw and removing the blade. Put the blade inside of the bushing and re-assemble the hacksaw handle around it. Saw carefully until you cut the bushing ring, but don't hit the control arm itself!
